Jaipur, Oct 16: The Pakistan team management today described the positive dope tests of pace spearheads Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammed Asif as "disappointing" but said the team had the resilience to take the shocking development in its stride.
"It is a disappointing development. We did not have the time to discuss it as a team. Things have happened very quickly from yesterday till this morning," coach Bob Woolmer told a pre-match press conference.
"We are pretty confident that the team will take any adversity in its stride. We will play good cricket tomorrow. It is very important for us to get two full points against Sri Lanka tomorrow," Woolmer said.
The Pakistan coach refused to take further questions on the dope scandal involving the two key players, saying it was for the Pakistan Cricket Board to come out with a complete statement.
"I don't understand what has happened. The PCB will make a complete statement. Let's leave it to them and let them make the statement. Let's wait for tomorrow's match," he added. (Agencies)
