Phagwara, Oct 18: The Phagwara unit of the Shiv Sena has threatened to disrupt the Champions Trophy match between Pakistan and New Zealand to be played at Mohali on October 25 to protest against the "direct involvement" of Pakistan in various terrorist activities in India.
Sena's Phagwara block president Kuldip Dani said yesterday Sena activists would not allow the match to be held and warned that the pitch at the Punjab Cricket Stadium would be rendered "unplayable by inflicting adequate damage to it."
He said a 'jatha' (squad) of Sena activists from Phagwara would leave for Mohali in coming days for the purpose.
"Since Pakistan is responsible for trans-border terrorism and destabilising India, we will not allow its team to play on our sacred soil," added Dani. (Agencies)
