Sehwag, Tendulkar fit to resume duty
Perth, Jan 29: India's star opening pair Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag were recovering fast from their injuries and would be ready to take on Australia on Sunday, team physiotherapist Andrew Leipus said today. "Sachin is coming along nicely and progressing with his rehabilitation, he will be fine," Leipus said.
He expressed confidence that both Tendulkar and Sehwag would be available for the tri-series one-day cricket match against Australia. Tendulkar sat out of India's last three matches with an ankle injury while Sehwag was recovering from a shoulder strain.
India were left with two more matches, against Australia on Sunday and Zimbabwe on Tuesday, in the round-robin before the best of three finals on February 6, 8 and 10. Though he gave the green signal to Tendulkar and Sehwag, Leipus said ace leg-spinner Anil Kumble would be left out of the two matches in Perth to rest his sore shoulder. (Agencies)
