BCCI ready to help needy ex-Test cricketers
Mumbai, Dec 17: The Indian cricket board (BCCI) today said it will provide financial assistance to needy former Test cricketers, including Mushtaq Ali and Vijay
Hazare.
"We have already started helping needy cricketers. In fact, the board has already released an ad hoc amount of Rs 2 lakh for the treatment of ailing former Indian skipper Vijay Hazare. Likewise, we will surely help Mushtaq Ali as soon as he or his family gets in touch with us", a BCCI official told newspersons here today.
"We can sanction up to Rs 3 lakh towards the treatment of ailing cricketers or an ad hoc sum of Rs 2 lakh once the cricketer concerned or his family members contact us," the official added. (Agencies)
