Chittagong, May 22: Miffed after rain marred the first Test
against Bangladesh, Indian captain Rahul Dravid today lashed out
at the tour scheduling and also sought a cap on the number of
Test and ODI matches to ensure quality cricket.
"Ideally, the timing of the series could have been better. But
schedules are crammed, over-crammed if you ask me. I don't know
how we are going to fit everything in," Dravid said after more
than 15 hours of playing time was lost in the Test due to rains.
Dravid also underlined the need to guard against playing
excessive cricket.
"The solution is that we have to get the scheduling right and
try to get certain number of Test and ODIs. We should try not to
exceed that number and plan your tours well and prepare well for
them," Dravid said replying to persistent queries from
newspersons after the Test match ended in a dull daw.
"At the end of the day, quality is important and as an
international player you want to provide quality cricket to
people," Dravid told reporters after the first Test ended in a
dull draw.
The third ODI between the two teams on May 15 had also been a
wash-out following rains. (Agencies)
