Laxman, Kartik back in one-day squad

Mohali, Oct 17: Middle-order batsman V V S Laxman and left-arm spinner Murali Kartik today made a comeback to the one-day side for India's first three matches of the triangular limited overs cricket tournament starting in Chennai on October 23. The national selectors led by chairman of the selection committee Syed Kirmani named a 14-member squad here which also includes a permanent wicketkeeper in teenager Parthiv Patel.

Besides India, the tournament also feature world champions Australia and New Zealand. Ashish Nehra, who has not returned to action since suffering an ankle injury during the World Cup earlier this year in South Africa, was not included since "he is being given more time to be completely fit," BCCI secretary S K Nair told reporters.
