Cricketer Sriram elated over comeback
Chennai, Nov 6: Elated over his comeback to the national side, Tamil Nadu batsman S Sriram today said he hoped to make good use of the opportunity. "I am really elated. I have been looking forward to this. I hope to make good of this opportunity given to me," Sriram said reacting to his inclusion in the 15-member Indian squad for the November 13 one-day international match against Pakistan to be played in
Kolkata.
The 28-year old, who made his one-day debut against South Africa in Nagpur in 2000, scored a brilliant 125 for India "A" in the practice match against India Seniors in Bangalore last month. A consistent performer in the domestic tournaments, Sriram has over 7,000 runs to his credit in first class cricket.
Sriram, who is also a utility spinner, had been striving for a place in the Indian team for over a season. (Our Correspondent)
