Pawar hails Tendulkar's world record
New Delhi, Dec 10: Cricket Board President Sharad Pawar today congratulated Sachin Tendulkar for scoring his world record 35th Test cricket century here.
In a message, Pawar, who is also Union Agriculture Minister, said the spectacular achievement of the master blaster would do every Indian, especially cricket lovers, proud.
Noting that the previous mark was also in the name of an Indian; Sunil Gavaskar, Pawar hoped that the feat achieved by Tendulkar had put at rest the apprehensions about his performance in view of his elbow injury, which was operated upon in London a few months ago.
"Tendulkar is the only player who has scored more than 10,000 runs in both the versions of the game," he said on phone from Mumbai.
Pawar said he would also visit Ahmedabad, where the third Test will be played, to personally congratulate Tendulkar as well as leg-spinner Anil Kumble for his 100th Test appearance. (Agencies)
