Kolkata, Dec 18: Fifteen members of a local club of south Kolkata's Behala area today went on hunger strike close to the residence of Sourav Ganguly demanding immediate inclusion of the former Indian captain in the test squad.
Holding placards which read 'We demand justice for ill-treatment to Sourav, Sourav be brought back to the team', 'Expel Greg Chappel, Kiron More from Indian cricket', the hungerstrikers, members of 'Sitalatala Sanghasree Club', claimed that their agitation would continue till the demands were met.
The club authorities said that 'injustice was meted out to Sourav who has done so much for Indian cricket'. "We are on fast to reverse the decision of the Cricket Board's Selection Committee which excluded Sourav ignoring national interest", they said. (Agencies)
