Rajkot, Jan 12: Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly has been named in the 30 probables list for the World Cup as well as for the first two one-day internationals against West Indies later this month. The BCCI selection committee that met here today has axed opener Virender Sehwag and appointed Sachin Tendulkar as vice-captain.
Chairman of the selectors Dilip Vengsarkar told reporters that Ganguly was picked for the side after his "excellent performance" in ODIs. He is an experienced player and he has done well in South Africa, he said. The team for the first two one-dayers against West Indies:
