New Delhi, Jan 23: Nimbus today welcomed the Delhi High Court order asking the company to provide feed of the India-West Indies ODI cricket series to Doordarshan with a seven-minute delay as a "step in the right direction".
"We welcome the court order and look forward to working with Doordarshan," Nimbus chairman Harish Thawani told newspersons, in the company's first reaction after the court verdict.
Thawani said: "Though still some issues remain, the landmark direction strikes a balance between commercial interests and public interest".
The Delhi High Court today directed public broadcaster Prasar Bharati to show live telecast of the cricket series on DD, but allowed rights holder Nimbus to delay the feed by seven minutes.
Asked if the interim order takes care of their demand on encryption of DD channel, Thawani said Nimbus would raise the matter during the next hearing on February 8.
The Nimbus chief said radio commentary to All India Radio would be provided from the next match itself, which would be live. (Agencies)
