Left-handed batsman Dinesh Mongia's match-winning 159 in the series-deciding fifth and final one-day international against Zimbabwe in Guwahati earlier this year has been rated by Wisden as the best batting performance in limited overs cricket in the past 12 months.

The other Indian to get a mention in the one-day top ten list, Yuvraj Singh was ranked sixth for his unbeaten knock of 98 against Sri Lanka in Colombo. Wisden marked the first anniversary of its player ratings today by releasing the year's top ten best batting and bowling performances in Test and one-day cricket.

However, though there was no Indian in the top ten of the Wisden list for Test batting, Harbhajan Singh secured the ninth place in the Test bowling list with his 6 for 62 against Zimbabwe at Delhi. Inzamam-ul Haq's monumental 329 against New Zealand and Muttiah Muralitharan's outstanding nine for 51 against Zimbabwe have been rated as the best batting and bowling performances respectively in Test cricket in the past 12 months.

Pakistan captain Waqar Younis (7 for 36 versus England) takes the honours in the one-day bowling ratings. “This first year of the Wisden 100 ratings shows how many exceptional performances there have been at international level,” said Steven Lynch, editor of Wisden Online. 

“Included among these are several Test and ODI best performances, such as Nathan Astle's fastest Test 200 and Chaminda Vaas's best-ever bowling figures in one-day international cricket,” he added.
