 Veteran speedster Javagal Srinath was today dropped from the national cricket team while leg spinner Anil Kumble has opted out of India’s tour of New Zealand starting from November 30.
Left arm spinner Murali Kartik and wicket keeper Ajay Ratra had been recalled in the 16-member Test squad announced by BCCI secretary S K Nair here.
Nair said Anil Kumble had not been selected since he had made himself unavailable for the 47-day tour of New Zealand while the selectors preferred to “rest”

He said the team for the
seven one day internationals would be selected in mid-December.
