| New Zealand will host India in two cricket Tests and a seven-match limited-overs series in a schedule allowing both nations to fine-tune for the 2003 World Cup.
New Zealand Cricket chief executive Martin Snedden said both Tests would be played before Christmas, with a one-day international (ODI) series starting
December 26 in Auckland.
“Given the time frame that we are working within and the desire of both teams to gain some valuable World Cup preparation by playing an extended one-day series, we have decided to allow for this by scheduling the two Test matches before Christmas,” Snedden said.
New Zealand will be hosting a seven-match one-day series for the first time.
India will play its first tour match on December 4 and the first Test will start on December 12 at Wellington. The Indian squad is expected home by January 16 to prepare for the World Cup, which opens on February 8 in South Africa. |
