It was not exactly a dream innings from Sachin Tendulkar but it did fulfil a long cherished dream for the little maestro.
The unbeaten 113 that Tendulkar scored on the opening day of the second Test against West Indies at the Queens Park Oval yesterday not only tied him with Sir Donald Bradman at second spot for the most number of centuries but was also his first in the Caribbean.
"I badly needed this hundred. I had missed four centuries (in West Indies) before, and it had always been a dream for me to score a hundred in the West Indies," said Tendulkar.
Tendulkar's 29th hundred came in his 93rd Test, while Bradman's entire Test career spanned only 52 matches.
Tendulkar, who the Don famously said batted like himself, is now next only to Sunil Gavaskar who has 34 centuries from 125 Tests.
In contemporary cricket, Australian captain Steve Waugh ranks next to Tendulkar with 27 hundreds.
