Dravid, Chappell inspect Kotla pitch
New Delhi, Dec 7: The Indian team management today closely inspected the track at the Ferozeshah Kotla ground, the venue for the second cricket Test against Sri Lanka beginning here on Saturday. Indian skipper Rahul Dravid, accompanied by coach Greg Chappell, studied the track and also had a chat with the curator.
"The pitch is fine," Chappell said after spending some time in the middle. Asked whether he felt the pitch was good enough to last full five days, Chappell said, "I can't comment on that." Dravid also refused to say much but did give his thumbs up to the track. "It's good, very good," he said.
Curator Prabir Mukherjee said the track would provide even bounce and the ball would come nicely to the bat to enable the batsmen to play their strokes. Mukherjee also said the wicket would have something to offer to the batsmen, the pacers and the spinners as well. (Agencies)
