India in Newzealand

No guts, no glory

Hyderabadians are so fortunate. They get everything, well, almost everything. It's well-known that sofware is 'in' in Hyderabad. As far as sports is concerned, a F1 track is said to be coming up near Hyderabad, and in the next five years, who knows, Schumi might well be there.

And, on this Saturday, the fortunate Hyderabadians will have the opportunity to witness a cracker of a match; read that as semi-final of the ongoing TVS Cup. The Kiwis will once again lock horns with Ganguly's boys in this encounter. What's going to happen is anybody's guess.

What will India have to do to win? What strategy should Ganguly adopt in juggling his bowlers? What should Sachin do - blast or be defensive?

To all these questions, there is a simple answer: Instinct.

Instinct, or gut feeling, is the key. Remember Campbell, who tossed the ball to Olonga in that fateful Ind-Zim World Cup match four years ago? In the post-match conference, Campbell said he had had a gut feeling that Olonga would do well, and so he gave him the ball; and Olonga won the match for Zimbabwe!

There's your victory, Saurav. Plan ahead, practice well, assess the Kiwi strength and weaknesses in the famous Wright's laptop. Be mentally prepared, be physically prepared. BUT, once you are on the field, trust your instincts. Follow gut feelings. Same for you, Sachin. Be like an F1 driver, start cautiously, then forget everything else and just enjoy your batting.

"We'll polish the Kiwis with our shine," says an advertisement on TV. Let's all pray that happens in Hyderabad. C'mon India.
