West Indies cricket captain Carl Hooper today said though the team had lots of youngsters, it lacked experience. "We lack experience, that is our weakness", he told reporters at Chennai airport soon after the arrival of the team from Colombo.
Talking to reporters before leaving for Bangalore, Hooper, a seasoned campaigner, said his team was confident of giving a good fight. "I know it is not going to be easy. But we have been batting well of late and our bowling is also improving", he said, adding that "our strength is we have a young side and we still feel we can have a good tour".
Another cricket veteran I V A Richards, who also arrived with the team and who was mobbed by enthusiastic youngsters in the domestic terminal of the airport for autographs, declined to say anything on the strength and weaknesses of the team. "I have just come as a selector. I will have to sit down with the coach and manager and sort out things", Sir Richards said smilingly. |
