Vijay TV dance festival
Natyanjali 2005, organised by Vijay TV, was held from September 23-25, at Chettinad Vidyashram, featuring several accomplished and renowned danseuses, some of whom are popular film personalities as well. Meena Muthiah inaugurated the
classical dance festival.

On September 23, classical singer Subhashree Ramachandran anchored the show which featured popular dancer Lakshmi Gopalswamy, followed by Anita Ratnam and her Arangham Dance Theatre troupe. Lakshmi Gopalswamy's performance highlighted traditional Bharatanatyam repertoire, while Anita Ratnam troupe had a pot pourri of classical, semi-classical and folk dances that were colourful in treatment.
The second day's show on September 24 featured actress Kalyanee, young talent, which was followed by actress Maanu's dance performance as Shakthi and Shiva.
The final day's Natyanjali on September 25 featured the dance ballet choreographed by 'Navarasa Nayaki' Ranganayaki Jayaraman. Actress Revathy was at her best as she emoted the navarasas of
Shakti.
Following this was the sprightly actress Aparna dancing to her guru K J Sarasa's nattuvangam. Aparna covered the stage well with beautiful and sweeping movements.

The grand finale came in the form of a Kuchipudi recital by actress Prabha Ramesh and troupe. Accompanied on nattuvangam by Vempati Ravi, Prabha touched every rasika's mind with a brilliant performance.
This novel attempt by Vijay TV to present an ode to the art of the divine would be aired on the channel from October3-12 at 6 p.m., with a one-hour special on October 11, between 6-7 p.m.
