The Other Festival - 2005
The Other Festival 2005 opened with a curtain raiser on November 27th at Sundar Mahal (Amethyst) with a grand music recital by two renowed Dutch musicians in which classical, European works were combined with contemporary music from different continents. Marcel Worms played on the piano with Eleonore Pameijer on the flute. Ganesh Kumar from Chennai joined them with
Alaap.
The Other Festival is on in Chennai from December 1 - 7, 2005.

Dec 1, 2005, 7pm: South Indian Classical Violin Solo Concert and Contemporary Music of Mohan Narayanan by violinist L ATHIRA KRISHNA -
'Jalam' - contemporary dance performance by Samudra Performing Arts.
Dec 2, 7pm: RABI'A - solo dance performance by Seema Agarwal in collaboration with theatre director Abhilash Pillai, New Delhi.
Dec 3, 7pm: 'Erendira and her Heartless Grandmother' - Theatre adaptation of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's short story, by Amal Allana and Salima Raza. Directed by Amal Allana, New Delhi.
Dec 4, 7pm: 'Dushala/ The Last Matriarch' - solo theatre performance by Pritham K. Chakravarthy, Chennai; Music by Flamenco Guitarist Pedro Soler from France (in association with Alliance Francaise).
Dec 5, 6pm: 'Dushasana' - solo theatre perfromance by M Palani, Chennai. Directed by V Balakrishnan, script by Na Muthuswamy.
Spanish dance - by Carmen Werner, Alejandro Morata of Provisional
Danza, Spain.
Dec 6, 7pm: Contemporary multimedia dance performance by Tami Dance Theater Company and Nimrod Freed (Israel).
Dec 7, 7pm: Onassis Awardee Manjula Padmanabhan's 'Hidden fires' - Solo theatre performance by Rashi Bunny, New Delhi; Directed by Arvind Gaur.
