 Meghasandesa launched in Chennai
Meghasandesa, 'The Cloud Messenger', was launched in Chennai for the December music and dance season on December 3, 2006. It was a Kalasamarpana Foundation presentation, whose founder-directors are M V Narasimhachari and Vasanthalakshmi.
It was an engrossing dance-drama based on Kalidasa's timeless classic, composed and choreographed by M V Narasimhachari and
Vasanthalakshmi.
Lyrical additions and elaboration were provided by Kaviratna Yamijala
Padmanabhaswami.

"Meghasandesa tells the simple story of a husband, who, separated from his beloved, uses a passing rain cloud to communicate a message of love and longing. To a world zipping on a fast track, Meghasandesa with its quaint charm and values is like a whiff of fresh air."
India has strong traditions of poetry, prose and drama. Meghasandesa was based on Kalidasa's famous Sanskrit play. It is considered to be the finest among romantic poetry and unquestionably one of the masterpieces of world literature. This dance drama in the classical Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi styles was interspersed with rhythmic folk dances and lilting melodies, enchanting both the young and the old alike.
Meghasandesa was put together by a 50-member team of dedicated and talented musicians, dancers and technicians.
Vocal support was provided by Narasimhachari and Radha Badri. They were ably backed by M Vasanthalakshmi (nattuvangam) Sudhaman Korambyu on the mridangam, B V Balasai (flute) and Rajesh Vaidya (veena).
