Hutch ties up with Crazy Mohan

Hutch, one of the leading mobile operators, has tied up with Crazy Mohan, a leading comedian in both drama and film formats. Samuel Selvakumar, operations director, Hutchison Essar, South, and Crazy Mohan announced their collaboration to provide enhanced value-added services for Hutch subscribers across India.

With the Hutch Great Indian Laughter challenge gaining popularity, Hutch is expanding the humour content for its users through a tie-up with Crazy Mohan for its Tamil-speaking users, said Selvakumar. As part of the company's VAS (value-added services) offerings, Crazy Mohan's plays will now be available exclusively to Hutch subscribers in the form of mobisodes (mobile episodes).

Select humour clips are also available as caller tunes.

If a good laugh is all you need at any time of the day, just dial 123456 and listen to Crazy Mohan's mobisode of the day or set a clip as your caller tune, Selvakumar said.

To begin with, Hutch's vox (voice response service) provides Crazy Mohan's popular play 'Satellite Samiyar', split into 25 mobisodes. Each mobisode's duration is anywhere between 1 to 3 minutes and costs Rs 6 per minute. Here, subscribers have the choice of listening to the mobisode of the day, listening to archived mobisodes and also entering the daily contest - 'The Crazy Mohan Question of the Day', based on the previous day's mobisode.

Also six humour clips are available as caller tunes. The option of having a shuffle mode is available by which the caller can listen to one of the six tunes at random.

There are other plays which would be offered in future, one of which is the famous 'Alladin and the Hundred Watt Bulb'. The service will be available to both post- and pre-paid customers.

Hutch has been constantly innovating and offering services aimed at providing maximum value to subscribers, Selvakumar said. "Crazy Mohan has kept Tamilians all over the world laughing for years now, and who better than him to liven up Tamalians across India in those dull moments. His brand of humour illustrates typical everyday life scenarios that people can identify with and laugh along with their friends and loved ones," he said, adding that "Mohan's brand of humour is clean and straightforward and in tune with the image of Hutch. All our customers in the city, whether post- or pre-paid, can now laugh along with him."

Mohan said, "I am excited to be partnering with Hutch for this unique initiative."

The interesting part of the Crazy Mohan question of the day contest is, winners stand to win an evening with him and get a set of autographed CDs of his plays. A parallel award is the 'Crazy Listener Award' for those who tune into the mobisode everyday. Winners receive the opportunity to meet Crazy Mohan and witness a live play as well as get a set of autographed CDs.

Crazy Mohan is a popular comedian and has written dialogue and script for popular Kamal Haasan movies like 'Apoorva Sagotharargal', 'Michael Madhana Kama Rajan', 'Avvai Shanmugi', 'Thenali', 'Pammal K. Sambantham', 'Panchathanthiram' and for the upcoming movie 'Dasavatharam', also for the Rajnikanth movie, 'Arunachalam'.

He runs his own drama troupe - Crazy Creations - and stages plays frequently in India, the US, singapore, Malaysia and Dubai, making Tamilians across the globe laugh out loud at his clean humour. Madhu and Cheenu are the popular characters in his plays. A few of his popular plays are 'Marriage Made in Saloon', 'Satellite Samiyar', 'Madhu +2', 'Crazy Thieves in Palavakkam', 'Return of Crazy Thieves', 'Meesaianalum Manaivi', 'Crazy Ghost', 'Jurassic Baby'.

He has written over 25 stage plays, scripts for over 32 movies and staged over 4,000 plays.
