Her Excellency Muniyamma on stage

Is power a masculine trait? Why are even women in power hailed (or ridiculed) as true males? Can someone wield power and still be non-violent and compassionate?

These are some of the questions are that are bound to come to the fore as the Tamil theatre group Pareeksha unfolds its play with a contemporary title 'Ahimsai Arasi Mudhalaam Muniyamma alias Vattam' raises issues relating to power, role of men and women, gender equity - all laced with typical Brechtian alienation and humour.
