Union Minister EVKS Elangovan is known for his forthright frankness. While participating in a public meeting at Chengalpattu, organized by the Congress party, he made a few candid remarks on the so-called Kamaraj rule which is the dream of every Congressman in Tamil Nadu. There could be no illegal sand mining in Kamaraj rule, he said. "Similarly, during Kamaraj rule, one need not pay one hundred rupees as gratification in the Taluk office for files to move.
Moreover, Kamaraj rule can be brought about only by Kamaraj or by the Congressmen. None else can usher in the Kamaraj rule. Many are playing second fiddle just to eulogize the ruling party. If Tamil Nadu were to watch the dawn of good times, Congress should come to power.
Personally I would like the Communists to come to power on their own. They have little concern for our nation. If it rains in Moscow, they will unfold the umbrella in Chengalpattu.
I am not trying to blame any individual. But the fact remains that some people, who realize that this is their last chance to rule, are trying to amass as much as they can.
Congressmen would never boast of their numerous achievements; but others are printing invitations for forty thousand rupees to open a ten thousand rupee bore-well," Elangovan concluded.
It does require a lot of guts to speak so openly, especially when his party's government at the Centre relies heavily on the support of the DMK. Congrats, Mr. Elangovan.
