To be or not to be. That seems to be the eternal question that troubles super star Rajinikanth. For several years now he has been toying with the idea of entering the political fray. Dilemma continues. Even before G K Moopanar launched the TMC, Rajini had consulted his friends and well wishers on his desire to lead a political outfit.
There is nothing wrong in any film personality longing to start a party. Even during the Freedom struggle our film and stage artists had shown that they are good in the role of opinion leaders. After independence, Arignar Anna and Kalaignar Karunanidhi both of whom had a successful filmi-career, turned into triumphant political leaders. MGR followed. Then Sivaji Ganesan, S S Rajendran and several others entered the political arena. And Puratchi Thalaivi J Jayalalitha! Recently, Vijayakanth, Karthik and Sarath Kumar have become party leaders. What's wrong in it?
And, Rajini's friend in Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjivi has launched his Party.
It is natural that Rajini's fans expect him to enter politics so that they can serve the people effectively. When they ran out of patience, some fans started a party in his name in Coimbatore and invited him to join it! That was too much. Rajini needs more time to decide. And more time.
Don't ever blame the fans, for their enthusiasm knows no bounds. They can't wait till the end of time.
He is now busy with 'Enthiran'. After that he may take another role. His fans want him to take his role in real life politics. Rajini says nobody can compel him. And if and when he decides to launch a party, nobody can stop him. It is all true. But, when will you decide, dear Rajini?
Please hurry up. Time and tide wait for none.
