By H Ramakrishnan Rajini Still In A Dilemma!

To be or not to be. That seems to be the eternal question that troubles super star Rajinikanth. For several years now he has been toying with the idea of entering the political fray. Dilemma continues. Even before G K Moopanar launched the TMC, Rajini had consulted his friends and well wishers on his desire to lead a political outfit.

There is nothing wrong in any film personality longing to start a party. Even during the Freedom struggle our film and stage artists had shown that they are good in the role of opinion leaders. After independence, Arignar Anna and Kalaignar Karunanidhi both of whom had a successful filmi-career, turned into triumphant political leaders. MGR followed. Then Sivaji Ganesan, S S Rajendran and several others entered the political arena. And Puratchi Thalaivi J Jayalalitha! Recently, Vijayakanth, Karthik and Sarath Kumar have become party leaders. What's wrong in it?

And, Rajini's friend in Andhra Pradesh, Chiranjivi has launched his Party.

It is natural that Rajini's fans expect him to enter politics so that they can serve the people effectively. When they ran out of patience, some fans started a party in his name in Coimbatore and invited him to join it! That was too much. Rajini needs more time to decide. And more time.

Don't ever blame the fans, for their enthusiasm knows no bounds. They can't wait till the end of time.

He is now busy with 'Enthiran'. After that he may take another role. His fans want him to take his role in real life politics. Rajini says nobody can compel him. And if and when he decides to launch a party, nobody can stop him. It is all true. But, when will you decide, dear Rajini?

Please hurry up. Time and tide wait for none.

Rajini unlike MGR not created any public image in acting to enter politics. But the public wants him to see like MGR. But it is not his mistake. He is ready to do variety of roles, at present he is doing the same heroism styles only for MGR fans. MGR fans never allow rajini to prosper. His body language is very realistic, and unlike Kamalhasan, he does not need any extraordinary getup to look like a character. In short, he can feel the character and act fluently. T.S. Balaiah and Rajini are the only two realistic characters that Tamil Nadu is having besides great S.V. Ranga Rao. But even Ranga Rao has not done that much variety of roles like Balaiah and Rajini. Both are really great and they can observe the character carefully and start acting. Acting Genius (Rajini and Balaiah)

Sivaji unlike MGR failed miserably in politics, because Sivaji Ganesan and Rajinikanth unlike MGR, played variety of characters and not maintained public image like MGR. But later stage, people only created MGR image for super star, but he is a great actor and cross over this public MGR image, because of his versatile acting.

I don' think rajini is suited for politics. He isvery impulsive in nature and cannot tolerate any mistake. It is better for him to keep off from politics and enjoy his spiritual journey. He is a good soul and people should not allure him to join politics as there is no one who is honest and trust worthy.

Rajini looks not cut out to be in politics. He is too good a person. Politics have now become a lucrative profession. He is not MGR. MGR built his base for years, was a staunch DMK partyman, and had diehard fans in great numbers, thanks to his carefully cultivated good image in the movies and of course, his charity. Through political power, one can do good to all people, no doubt, but will today's scenario be conducive enough for Rajini to garner the majority? Instead of becoming a nobody, at least he is some one wielding great powers and he need not be in politics to raise moral awareness and good governance. He could have advisors in various fields. This way he can repay his gratitude to Tamil people. He does not have to spoil his hands by bribing voters and the like. Political scene is TN is too dirty for good people to enter and amass votes to get majority. If he enters the scene, only either of DMK or AIADMK would benefit, and may still capture power without even 50% of the votes that would get split. Vijayakant, MDMK, Dr Ramadass party all have lost the moorings. Even Congress has to lean on one of the two dravidian parties to get some seats. I reckon this would not change in the medium period, whether Rajini enters politics or not. Let wise counsel prevail. Gemini Ganesan, Jayashankar, Sivakumar, Kamala Hassan are all clever and have ensured that they would not take any public stand in politics. Their names evoke good feelings, thanks to their being outside politics. Over to Rajini.

well,Rajini could start a party in no time.but his base &followers should be educated/well informed one abt politics.mere celebration wil not work in politics as in cinema.and once he starts his party there cld be differences within his party/rasigar mandram, like what is happening in Vijayakanth's MDMK and chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam.i think, for this reason also Rajini is hesitant joining politics.he is a good god fearing soul, but whwn he enters politics, he needs to be tough and clear on issues and social problems.he should inspire the whole people not only the youth.if he is ready for this and enters politics.my vote is waiting for him.and at last i should tell u people that im an ardent Rajini fan for cinema.but in politics he needs to do concrete things for the betterment of life for every soul when he calls it a day on poitics.all the best to him....

The reality of the numbers game means coalition will prevail. Like vijaykanth did earlier Rajini can play spoiler and divide votes and then leverage his position With each pillar of democracy being compromised it is timefor us to have ourObama - but will he be from Kodambakkam- may be

DMK/ADMK are two sides of the same coin - vulgar politics and corruption. We need some new blood and new ideas. Vijaykanth or Rajinikanth would be great. Rajini is a nationalist and a God fearing person and will awaken the morals in people. More than anything, we need good itentions because India today is a morally dead nation.

rajini should stand separately without aligning with any party esp. BJP... i think vijayakanth and sarath kumar have created a small hesitation for rajini. nothing wrong in waiting for the appropriate time and inspiration. "kokkokka koombum paruvatthu" says the Kural. And God's blessings will be needed in plenty to succeed!
