Adventure with youth attitudes!

Education

Starting December 22nd Chennai will be witness to 'Adventure in Attitudes: A Youth Workshop' and personal effectiveness program conducted by long-standing and highly enterprising human development trainer Kichu. The weekend course, created exclusively for students, examines the very basis of personal and inter-personal communication.

The course's rather unique aspect is its trimmed down theory-content. That being so, it is loaded with insightful and fun-filled demonstrations, interactions and exercises. The basic philosophy however is empowerment, something that puts to test participants' capabilities and pushes them to constantly break their limits. In a very non-descript way, Adventure in Attitudes uses the core of Oriental philosophy with relevance to today's living.

An ideal place for aspiring youngsters to sharpen their sensibilities. Also recommended for its scaled down, student-price of Rs.500/- per participant. What is more, the organisers promise to return the balance after calculating the actuals on the last day.

Adventure in Attitudes comes to Chennai following its yearlong run in Bangalore. If the city's feedback is anything to go by, the course has definitely made a difference to participating students. A post workshop meeting allows participants to bring in guests and share their own breakthroughs with them.

Most participants shared breakthroughs, some shared breakdowns. These spanned wide and unconnected areas of their lives. Like for Sharath who could watch what he said and handle his upsets, much to the surprise of his friends who were wondering what had happened to him.

Strangely even for people who are rather quite the workshop held something. Divya said she used to be very scared of asking her teachers any questions. But after the workshop she said, "though I was scared today, I asked my teacher a question". Much to her surprise her teacher, later on, expressed happiness at the question.

Amid the interest the workshop arouses, it does deliver tangible results. A must for youth who are longing to unshackle their creative resources from hang-ups and fear.
