The Ma Foi foundation has been offering scholarships for education, for deserving underprivileged students to pursue their school and college studies. This scholarship program, called "Disha" has been active for the last 10 years. During the last academic year, 55 students (Disha Scholars) appeared for the 12th examination and 90% of the students scored more than 60 %. Of them, Malathi, daughter of C. Thangarajan working as a Clerk in Vilampatti (Virudhunagar District) scored 1165 marks, N. Siva Kumar, son of Natarajan, a Salesman in a garment store in Chennai scored 1151 and R. Sudha, daughter of M. Ravichandran, who works in a medical shop in Chennai Ayanavaram, scored 1117.

These students were felicitated by Ms. Latha Rajan, Chairperson of the Foundation and Ma Foi members, and were awarded Rs.10,000, Rs.7,500 and Rs.5,000 respectively.

The Disha scholarship scheme, presently benefits more than 1650 students in 43 schools in Chennai and Virudhunagar Districts. Every year, a Scholarship amount of Rs.1200 is given to the students up to 10th standard, Rs.1500 to 11th & 12th Std and Rs.5000 to college students. The Scholars also receive a Seven-Day career guidance and life skills training every year.
