 The Arrangement of Love
The British Council presents the launch of The Arrangement of Love, a novel by Timeri N Murari on October 29, 2004, in
Chennai.
Smoking a joint in the attic of his Westchester home, 17-year-old Nikhil Figgis finds a tattered copy of a novel called Georgetown among the folds of ared silk sari in a long-forgotten suitcase. 11 years on, he has arrived in India armed with a stage adaptation of the novel to look for its author, who is also the father he has never known.
What destiny has in store for Nikhil in India forms rest of the story. Skilfully interweaving drama, romance and comedy, and packed with quirky, unforgettable characters, The Arrangement of Love is a wonderful novel about family and home and the intricacies of ordinary human relationships.
Theatre Y presents a dramatised reading from this book followed by an interaction with the author. The launch is scheduled for 6.30 p.m.
