Tamil kavithai in CD
A Tamil kavithai book is being published as a CD, reportedly for the first time in India. The honour belongs to young poet Arun Chidambaram, who works in the City of Chicago Mayor's office as a web developer.
The poetry collection, titled 'Muyarchiyai Moochakku', is being released June 9 by Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu and the first copy of the book/CD will be received by film producer Kalipuli S.
Thanu.
Arun Chidambaram, son of body developer, Dr A Chidambaram, and Poongodai, who works for the
AIR, is a product of Annamalai University. He is also currently doing postgraduation in Information Technology and Management at the Illinois Institute of Technology.
His love for Tamil is also exhibited in the fact that he is on the editorial board of the magazine, 'Nanal', that is published in the US. The magazine has been in circulation for about 10 years and deals with art, literature and news on
Nagarathar.
His first poetry book, called 'Vizhiye Vizhithiru', was published when he was still in college doing his BE course. It was again Vairamuthu who released the book in April 2003 and the first copy was received by film producer Pazha
Karuppiah.
Arun Chidambaram has the honour of President Abdul Kalam congratulating him for his very first book that was full of fierce optimism.
"Not just the President but also the then Education minister Thambidurai, Asian Olympic Committee chairman P Sivanthi Adithan, IPS officer Thilakavathi, Annamalai University Vice-Chancellor, Dr L P Venkatraman and writer Balakumaran also praised my effort," says a happy
Arun.
While 'Vizhiye Vizhithiru' had 153 pages, 'Muyarchiyai Moochakku' has about 175 pages.
What is the theme of the second collection? "That you can achieve anything if you set your heart on it. It would also help energise the youth," declares young poet
Arun.
''Ettu disaiyum
Vunakethiraa?
Onbatham disaiyai
Nee ezhuppu!"
is an example of the poetry his book boasts of.
But his next collection would be different: it would give hope to Indians. "Once the book is out, every Indian would feel proud of being an Indian," beams Arun.
