 'You are appointed'
The monthly colloquium of Tamil Maiyam was held at Stella Maris College, Cathedral Road, Chennai, recently which was followed by a review of the book 'You are Appointed' authored by K Pandia Rajan, managing director of Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd.
Doing the review of the book, Father Jagath Gaspar Raj, founder, Tamil Maiyam, said, "The book explores 32 industry segments and takes the reader through an experiential journey into the job opportunities in each industry, the function awareness, the recruitment process, critical attributes required to be placed, and institutions which can help a candidate in his quest for placement in a career of his choice. Speaking at the colloquium, Pandia Rajan threw light on 'Emerging Economic Possibilities' in Tamil Nadu. He spoke on various emerging job opportunities and the industry trade scenario in Tamil Nadu. This was followed by presentations by Prof Ravindranathan, HoD, English Department, Manonmaniam Sundarar University, on 'Cultural Factors Impeding the Entrepreneurial Drive of Tamils', and by Dr Ananda Krishnan, chairman, Madras Institute of Development Studies, on 'Higher Education and Social Justice'.
Tamil Maiyam was founded in Chennai in 2002 by Father Jagath Gaspar Raj as a non-profit organisation to promote Tamil arts, literature and culture with special thrust on research, creative productions and publications. This also helps create a forum for Tamils living in various parts of the world to interact, relate, learn and work together for the betterment of the Tamil language and Tamil society.
Pandia Rajan is a B.E (Hons) from PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, PG Diploma (Hons) in PM & IR from Xavier Labour Relations Institute
(XLRI), Jamshedpur.
He founded and built Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd into the first public limited HR service provider in India with over 600 professionals operating from 54 offices in India, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore, Sri Lanka, UAE, UK, and the US. He played a crucial role in the evolution of HRD as an industry in India by offering a basket of innovative HR products through Ma Foi.
