Understanding Tigers
Naturequest presents 'Understanding Tigers', an illustrated talk by Dr K Ullas Karanth, at 6.30 pm, Saturday, March 25, 2006, at The Bookpoint Auditorium, 160, Anna Salai (Opp Spencer Plaza), Chennai. The programme is open to all.
Although a pall of gloom hangs over the future of India's tigers, world-renowned tiger biologist, Dr Ullas Karanth, strongly believes that there is still hope for the beleaguered big cat. The key to saving tigers, he believes, is in understanding them. His two decades of research have given him a rare insight into the life of this secretive predator.
The occasion will mark the release of Dr Karanth's new book - 'A View from the Machan', a superb collection of essays.
Also on display and sale will be Dr Karanth's earlier book, the lavishly illustrated 'The Way of the Tiger', a true collector's item. Bookpoint offers 10 per cent discount to Naturequest members on both titles on March 25.
