 A different marriage celebration
It is meant to be the marriage of psychiatrists Dr T R Suresh and Dr T Prabalkumari's daughter, but it is being turned into a book release function.
It was a pleasant surprise to see in the invitation that the Tamil translation of Sri Periavacchan Pillai is being released at Kalaignar Arangam the day after the wedding.
The entire Periya Tirumozhi of Sri Tirumangai Azhwar with Tamil translation of the original 'manipravala' commentary by Periavacchan Pillai is being released in two volumes at 3 p.m. on June 9, 2006, at Kalaignar Arangam, Anna Arivalayam, Chennai - 600 018.
The translation is by the well-known Tamil scholar Pandita Vidwan T V Gopala
Ayyar.
The first copy will be received by Nalli Kuppuswamy Chetti, says Sekkizhar Adi-p-podi, Dr T N Ramachandran, bride Sujata's grandfather.
