The British Council and the British Deputy
High Commission here has developed a certified training
programme for agents promoting UK education. The programme
provides agents with a broad knowledge of the UK education
system, according to an embassy release here today.
The aim of the training programme was to
develop knowledge of the UK education and training system,
courses and qualifications at each level, Quality assurance
mechanisms and how they operate. Apart from this, the course
would also develop knowledge about student lifestyle issues -
living costs, travel and accommodation, course fees and
scholarships, welfare and support provided for international
students in the UK, UK application procedures and standard entry
requirements, visa and immigration regulations.
The three-month long online programme offered
would help agents effectively provide high-quality authentic
information, resources and services to potential students
considering UK education. During the course the candidates would
be able to monitor their learning with online self-assessments.
The certificate is recognised by UK
institutions as it demonstrates that the candidates have gained
knowledge to provide authentic, first hand information to all
prospective students. So far 36 agents have successfully
completed the course from South India, the release added. -
