Hari Shree Vidyalaya, a venture supported by the Chettinad Group of Companies and headed by Dr M A M Ramaswamy, will commence classes from June, 2004. Numerous courtyards surrounded by colourful pillars, open airy verandahs, Athangudi border and red oxide flooring will greet one and all as they step into Hari Shree Vidyalaya at Raja Annamalai Puram in
Chennai.
The aim of the school is based on Swami Dayananda Saraswati’s vision of education – ‘Educate the whole person. Education is not at the cost of the child’s emotional security. Education is complete only if it takes care of a child’s emotional well-being.’ In tune with this vision, the school will follow the parent-child programme for
L.K.G., wherein the parent will accompany the child to school ensuring that the child begins his/her journey in learning with security and self-assurance. The emotional climate that the school offers is integrated seamlessly into the curriculum.
According to Geetha Muthiah, Director, Hari Shree Vidyalaya, “The development of the personality of the child will be held paramount at Hari Shree Vidyalaya. The school’s aim will be to draw on the latent potential in every child and assist them to become a life-long learner.”
Affiliated to the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (ICSE), the school plans to incorporate Vedic heritage programmes to enable children assimilate values and be rooted in our culture. To bring in tradition, the uniform for the children will be the traditional ‘pavada’ and ‘chattai’ for girls and ‘kurtha’ and ‘pyjama’ for boys.
Initially the school will cater up to Standard IV with an annual expansion plan up to Standard X.
Admissions are offered from L.K.G. to Class IV.
