To provide the
three `Rs’ to the economically backward children is the mantra of
Kasthuri Sudhakar. She chose the holy town of Tiruvallur, and
started Sri Anjaneya Vidyalaya Matriculation School. Why did she
choose Tiruvallur of all places? Her stint as principal in a
premier school is one of the reasons. Tiruvallur, though situated
near Chennai and en route to the famous Tirupati temple, is still
categorised as a backward area.
The school was started in 2001 in a rented
place. The love and affection showed by the people in and around
that area is remarkable. Sri Anjaneya
Vidyalaya Matriculation School is a charitable, non-profitable
institution for the people and by the people. Kasthuri’s aim is to
improve the infrastructure and provide the best education to the
downtrodden children. The husband and wife team of Sudhakar and
Kasthuri is spending money from its own pocket to run the school.
