All about Rajnikanth
Rajni
Netru, Indru, Naalai
Rajnikanth was born Shivaji Rao Gaekwad on December 12, 1949, in Karnataka. He became a bus conductor and that was when he reportedly caught the fancy of the bus travelers with his mannerisms and style of issuing tickets and blowing the whistle and so on. Balachander gave him a small role - as the no-good husband of Srividya - in 'Aboorva Raagangal' and the rest, as we know, is history.
Baba's magnanimous gesture
Living up to his demi-God status superstar Rajnikant compensated the loss suffered by his distributors and theatre owners who released his 'Baba', by returning part of the amount he had received from them.
Muthu in Tokyo
In Japan, 'Muthu' was released as 'Dancing Maharaja' and 'Yejaman' as' 'Dancing Maharaja -2'. Super-star Rajnikant is being looked up to as Jackie Chan there.
Thillana, Thillana
The trend of shooting movies in Japan changed slightly when Rajni's 'Muthu' was screened in Japan and ran for 200 days
Baba's punch lines 'Naa latea vanthalum latesta
varuven'.
'Intha Babavukku salut(e)um adikka theriyum, sowkkaleyum adikka theriyum'.
Rajni's next car
Rajni loved to travel in his white Fiat or Ambassador. But one saw the actor zooming around in his new Ford Icon. It was wife Latha's birthday gift to him.
A good friend
Rajni was at Tirupati. Mohan Babu was shooting his Telugu film at
Tirupati, the film for which our superstar penned the story and screenplay.
Rajni had played the role Vijaykumar did in the Telugu version of 'Nattamai'. All for the sake of best friend Mohan Babu.
Memories of ‘Aval appadiththaan’
Kamal and Rajni were very busy when
'Aval appadiththaan' was shot, since they were acting in a number of movies simultaneously. Both were in the peak of their careers and were extremely busy. But the readiness with which they responded and
cooperated for the movie is something commendable and unforgettable.
Baba
in Bush land
What a treat from Rajni after three years, some could be heard saying. Do you want to know what an anti-climax it was? Will it be enough if I told you that most people left during the interval? The north Indians said, "It could be seen once." And I thought it was GOOD. Hey Baba!
Album for Rajni
Latha Rajnikanth's special commemoration album for
'Rajni 25' had the theme music, two pop songs and two non-stop hits of
Rajnikanth's film songs.
Twinkle Twinkle Super Star II
Unlike Amitabh who has come out into the open,
Rajni is not yet tired of playing the ‘keep-guessing-game.’ He has been a silent observer and sitting on the fence for a long number of years now.
The first ride
"There has never been any rivalry between the two of us. Never. When I made my entry in Apoorva Raagangal, Kamal was a Super Star already. Kamal would take me in his bike in the pillion in a scene in Apoorva Raagangal. I did not know Tamil then and I asked him in English, 'Are you really good at riding the bike?' 'Oh yes,' he said,
and added, 'I won't let you fall, even if I do.' And he has not made me fall till this
day'."
The RAJNI-25 Show
"People may wonder what I have achieved in all these years. My greatest achievement is that I have not given any problem to any of my producers or directors. And that no producer can say that he has suffered a loss because of
me," Rajni says.
Twinkle Twinkle Super Star
His participation in the anniversary of the magazine ‘Thuglak’ once again raised
a good amount of dust. Cho came out with an open statement in the function, advising him to take charge of the third front and that made it to the headlines immediately.
Is Rajni's Baba about politics or theism?
Rajni's strength, according to some, is his ability to keep people guessing and thus generate a lot of interest and enthusiasm for his movies. Some say that
Rajni participates in a number of public functions before and after the release of his movies and airs his views on various subjects. They cite some examples to substantiate this view. They recall
Rajni talking about the bomb culture before Basha was released.
