"We had done a very successful test across Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore & Mumbai in February this year. Participants were given a participant booklet (categorized caste-wise) and time slots in advance. With short-listed names, they initiated meetings at the venue. Contact details of all the participants from the respective castes were also given at the venue, so that contact can be made independently by the participants after the event. Besides advertising, the portal carried out a direct-to-customer contact programme across 9 districts in Tamil Nadu for this event. Keeping sensitivities in mind, the company tapped potential customers at temples, large departmental stores, and popular hang-outs across the state. The portal had banners at prime locations in the city for a month, also inviting registrations.
Added attractions at the event were peripheral services like astrology (including 'killi joshiyam'), beauty advise, and mehndi designers!
