A lecture that will provoke you to look at yourself.
Philosophy buffs will be spell-bound. For others, it will be an entirely new perspective on life and living.
Ever wondered how you can understand yourself and find the right blend of success and satisfaction….?
Ever wondered how you can build up the courage and determination to step out beyond yourself and help others, without being judgmental…?
Ever wondered if you can choose your roles in life without being chased by them…?
Ever wondered if you can maintain your mental poise and equanimity irrespective of the external experiences?
Might sound a bit too far-fetched and idealistic. “It’s all in the mind”… is a phrase we all know well about. But we are never sure of the mechanics of the mind and how it works. The vedic philosophy has researched extensively into this subject of the mind and seeks to answer the most fundamental question of “Who am I”.
“Self-Awareness” is also a critical element of anything we want to do. There are essentially two things involved in the transactions of life. You are one of them and the external world that we see, hear or feel is the other. While we attempt to manage and control the external world by understanding the mechanics of how they work, we rarely seek to understand oneself. In fact, this complete understanding of the two sides of the transaction completes the “management” picture.
Swami Suddhananda is a teacher who explains the concept of “Self-Awareness” in a masterly yet simple and humorous style. The discussions are based on a clear, logical and reflective approach to understand oneself in order to function effectively in a relevant, modern world. The whole attempt is to enquire into the bigger picture of the human psyche through rational arguments and discussions.
There is no religious bias. No ritualistic / yogic / meditative practices either. No moralistic or ethical pronouncements too. The only promise, though, is that you will begin to understand yourself better and this will in turn make you a more confident yet humble individual.
