Tata Indicom launches Non-Stop Mobile

Tata Teleservices, a premier telecom service provider, redefined the existing prepaid mobile market in India on October 14, 2005, by unveiling their new offering - Tata Indicom Non Stop Mobile- which is a novel scheme for its prepaid customers, under which they could continue to get incoming calls for two years without recharging. They could also make free calls to other Tata mobile users in Tamil Nadu for the period of two years.

M A Madhusudan, chief operating officer, Tata Teleservices - Tamil Nadu and Kerala Circles, said that the scheme was aimed at broadbasing the customer base. Under the scheme, any new customer could purchase handsets from the company and also prepaid coupons, ranging from Rs 50 to Rs 3,000 and could use the mobile for two years without recharging.

The scheme was aimed at increasing the company's market share from the present 15 per cent to 20 per cent by March next, he said.

Introduced in India for the first time ever, the new 'Non Stop Mobile' range of handsets, allows customers to receive free incoming calls for a period of 2 years while other mobile services require subscribers to recharge regularly. With 'Non Stop Mobile', there is no fixed monthly commitment, subscribers are free to recharge with any recharge voucher (starting at Rs 50) and use the value till he desires up to for the entire validity period of the mobile. All this comes with 100 per cent talk time.

This service is available on four new dynamic and trendy colour and black and white mobile handsets namely Indicom Star, Indicom Ace, Samsung Neo and Kyocera Prisma priced at Rs 3,999, Rs 2,499, Rs 2,999 and Rs 3,249 respectively.

Madhusudan said, "Tata Teleservices is lighting fire in the world of mobile communications, which will change the way Indians talk forever. We are deeply committed to translating the Tata Vision into the field of communications bringing a fair deal and a better quality of life to millions of Indians with this unique service".

"Yet again, our target audience for 'Non Stop Mobile' is definitely the vast masses of India. We believe that it is this customer segment, to which we need to extend such revolutionary services. By changing the lives of this category, India can truly achieve development and a higher mobile penetration. This is our contribution to the Indian telecom industry by way of enhancing the reach of telecom services to a larger population. Huge effort has gone into developing this offer and we hope to make this an unmatched success in the history of Indian telecom," he added.
