It is a state-of-the-art centre with 20,000 sq ft of space, best of breed infrastructure and technology set-up. The technology development at this facility would involve building reservation systems, international travel portals on open systems technologies and also development work on TPF and zTPF (new generation TPF).

The Chennai facility will also serve as a BCP site for IGT's critical operations in the technology development area.

Vipul Doshi, CEO, InterGlobe Technologies, said, "IGT has been growing rapidly in the past few years. With this new facility, we now have four state-of-the-art facilities in India, out of which three facilities are in Gurgaon, housing IT service delivery, offshore development and BPO operations. The Chennai facility, which is an exclusive technology development centre, will help us expand our capacity to service our clients more effectively. We have invested over $ 1 million in the very best equipment and environment to enhance productivity of employees and ensure seamless delivery to clients. We plan to more than double the capacity of the centre taking it to 500 seats, with further investments in the next 12-18 months."

IGT, a SEI CMMi Level 5 organisation, has also recently been awarded ISO 9001:2000 certification for its BPO operations, which is one of the highest levels of quality standards. The focus on quality delivery at InterGlobe Technologies is backed by highly specialised training in areas critical to the travel industry.
