The Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers
Association (AIEMA) and AIEMA Technology Centre (ATC), which
brought together the stalwarts of the lndian Industry, are back
again with their 8th show ACMEE 2008 following the success of
ACMEE in the years 1994, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2004 and 2006,
said Dilip Kumbhat, chairman, ACMEE 2008.
ACMEE, the most established international
industrial exhibition in the southern region of the country, has
steadily built itself to be a manufacturers' show case over the
last twelve years. It was at ACMEE that their newest products
and technologies were launched and effectively demonstrated to
the ready buyers. The thrust areas of ACMEE are mainly auto
components and machine tools.
The Ambattur Industrial Estate Manufacturers
Association (AIEMA), with nearly 900 active members, represents
the entire small and medium-scale industrial fraternity located
in the Ambattur Industrial Estate, Chennai. Established in 1963,
the Ambattur Industrial Estate encompasses an area of nearly 473
hectares of land with more than 2,000 small and medium scale
industries. This Estate is not only the oldest in India but also
one of the largest in Asia.
AIEMA Technology Centre, popularly known as
ATC, and a wing of AIEMA, was established as a forum for
technological uplift of the member units exclusively and to meet
their training and developmental needs.
ACMEE 2008, the 8th in the series, is planned
in the modern and fully air-conditioned Chennai Trade Centre,
Nandambakkam, Chennai. It will be held from 19-23 June 2008.
It's approved by ITPO and supported by the Directorate of
Industries & Commerce, NSIC, SISI, SIDBI, Karur Vysya Bank and
Canara Bank.
The thrust areas are
1) Machine Tools
2) Innovative Automobile Products. It will also provide an
opportunity for engineering students to exhibit their talent.
ACMEE 2008 will give away awards to three
best stalls for small-scale, medium and large industries,
Kumbhat said.

SISI has come forward to promote competition
in various skills for the industrial work force in different
disciplines and prizes will be awarded, Kumbhat said.
NSIC has planned technical seminars on the
emerging trends in the industry during the show. Seminars will
be conducted by the participating industries from India and
aboard.
Apart from national participants, ACMEE 2008
is expected to attract foreign participation from Russian
Federation, UK, US, Italy, Germany, Israel, Taiwan, Korea,
Australia, China and Malaysia, as in the past. The exhibition
will attract over 80,000 trade visitors from India and abroad.
