The Tamilnadu Postal Circle will be hosting the
Tenth India National Philatelic Exhibition, INPEX 2008, from January
2-6, 2008, at Rani Meyyammai and Rajah Muthiah halls at No. 18-C and
18-D, Rukmani Lakshmipathy Road, Egmore, Chennai - 600 008.
According to a note from the office of the
Principal Chief Postmaster General, this is the first time this even
is being held in Tamil Nadu.
About 1,000 frames will be on display and a good
number of these frames has been set apart for youth class and
schools.
Valuable collections consisting of rare stamps from the National
Philatelic Museum, India Security Press, Army Postal Service and
reputed educational institutions will be on display.
A colourful souvenir, containing articles on postal history and
philately by reputed experts in the field, will be released. Special
postal covers on various themes will be released on each day of the
exhibition.
Special booths for official philately services and stamp dealers
will find place at the venue. The exhibition will be kept open for
visitors from 10.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. There is no entry fee and all
are welcome.
All competitive exhibits will be adjudged by a special jury
committee and attractive prizes will be awarded to the winners.
