Miss Earth Afghanistan for Chennai Open
Chennai Open 2007 has created a history of sorts! To begin with as many as 29 sponsors have associated themselves with the tournament, the player field comprising the best players in the world being arguably the best in the 12-year history and the tournament will be beamed to a worldwide audience through a strong group of international TV networks. And now adding to the glamour and glitz of the championship, Vida Samadzai - Miss Earth Afghanistan 2003, will take active part in the week-long celebrations on and off-court at Chennai Open.
Chennai Open 2007, India's first ATP International Series Tennis tournament will be held from January 1-7, 2007, at SDAT, Nungambakkam Tennis Stadium, in
Chennai.

The high-voltage adrenaline that will be created on the courts will now be extended to action off-court with Vida's presence at all important events during the tournament. She will attend the players party, the Rolex charity auction, the CRY charity match and many other exclusive events during the week-long tournament.
Vida Samadzai, known for her beauty and talent, is a young, dynamic person whose varied interests in modelling, social work, public speaking, has already created a buzz in India. Today, she is actively involved with fund-raising, community involvements, and non-profit organisations nationally and internationally.
She has been getting plenty of movie offers, a few from Hollywood, but plenty from Bollywood. Vida is a 5-foot 9-inch, green-eyed beauty who grew up in Kabul, Afghanistan, and moved to the United States in 1996. For now, Vida's home is India where a successful modeling career is giving way to a burgeoning acting career. With or without her pageant ties, Vida believes her duty is to help people around the world.
The $ 416,000 Chennai Open, owned and organised by IMG, is India's first ATP International Series Tennis event, and one of only nine in all of Asia. Started in 1996 by IMG, a global leader in sports management and marketing, Chennai Open has completed 11 successful years of existence, branding Chennai and India on the global tennis map thus creating a legacy of sorts for promoting international tennis in India.
Winner of the prestigious ATP's Player Services Award of Excellence in 2006 for its outstanding organisation and wonderful hospitality towards the participants, Chennai Open has acquired the status of a much sought-after tennis event for both players and fans alike in the international tennis circuit.
The tournament is conducted in Chennai under the aegis of the All India Tennis Association (AITA) and is organised with the active collaboration of the Sports Development Authority of Tamil Nadu (SDAT) and Tamil Nadu Tennis Association
(TNTA).
The tournament is sponsored by a consortium of sponsors in gold and platinum category, set up by the Government of Tamil Nadu and the
TNTA.
