Intellectual property management
|
A one-day seminar on 'Intellectual Property Assets – Effective Business Tools' will be held in Chennai December 12, jointly organised by the Licensing Executives Society India (LES) and The Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry
(MCCI).
The subject is very much relevant to the new economy of today. Adequate awareness of an entity’s intellectual property assets, its identification, exploitation and protection is a crucial step in turning business ideas into assets with a real market value. Effective IP management means more than just protecting an enterprise’s IP assets: it involves the ability to commercialise such inventions, trademarks, know-how, copyright, design and trade secrets, and effectively monitoring and enforcing its IP rights.
The seminar will address issues like:
-
How do I determine what my technology is worth?
-
How do I effectively manage my IP assets as an effective for-profit tool?
-
How do I identify valuable technology/assets that I can license out?
Important speakers at the seminar will be:
-
Dr Heinz Goddar, past president, LES International; German Patent Attorney, Partner Boehmert & Boehmert, Munich;
-
S Ramkrishna, senior director, corporate Affairs, Pfizer Ltd;
-
Prof Premchander, consultant;
-
Benny Browne, partner, Griffith Hack, Melbourne;
-
Manish Thakker, vice-president, ICICI Securities Ltd;
-
Saikrishna Rajagopal, Saikrishna Associates.
