Tendulkar, Dravid top ODI, Test ranking

Muttiah Muralitharan leads the bowling ratings in both Tests and ODIs according to the latest cricket ratings released by ESPN STAR Sports. India’s new-found bowling sensation Irfan Pathan (135 points) follows Murali (141 points) in world ODI bowling charts. Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid have maintained their top spots in world ODI and Test rankings respectively while Team India (67 points) is at the second spot behind world champions Australia (76 points) in the ODI team rankings.

Sachin Tendulkar (89 points) continues to enjoy the top spot followed by Adam Gilchrist from Australia (86 points) in world ODI batting. Ricky Ponting (78 points) and V V S Laxman (77 points) are at the third and the fourth spot. South Africa's Jacques Kallis (76 points), England’s Marcus Trescothick (70 points), Pakistan’s Inzamam-Ul Haq (67 points), India’s Rahul Dravid (65 points), Virender Sehwag (62 points) and West Indian Chris Gayle (61 points) complete the ladder.

In the world ODI bowling chart, South Africa's Makhaya Ntini (133 points), and Chaminda Vaas from Sri Lanka (133 points) share the third spot behind Murali and Pathan. Pakistan's Mohammad Sami (129 points) and Shoaib Akhtar (122 points) are at the fifth and sixth spot respectively. Zaheer Khan (121 points), Daryl Tuffey (117 points), L Balaji (116 points) and Shaun Pollock (115 points) follow them in that order.

Following Australia and India at the top in world ODI team rankings is South Africa (63 points), Pakistan (59 points), Sri Lanka (59 points), New Zealand (54 points), England (49 points), West Indies (46 points), Zimbabwe (21 points) and Bangladesh (5 points). Kenya is without any score.

In world Test batting, Rahul Dravid and Brian Lara are in the first and the second spot with 156 and 146 points respectively. Following these two class batsmen are South African Jacques Kallis (138 points) and Herschelle Gibbs (133 points). Matthew Hayden from Australia (129 points) is at the fifth spot. Three Indians, Virender Sehwag (128 points), V V S Laxman (102 points) and Sachin Tendulkar (92 points) are at sixth, eight and ninth spot respectively. Australian captain Ricky Ponting with 122 points is at the seventh spot while South African captain Graeme Smith (90 points) rests at the 10th position.

Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne, both great spinners, are at the first and second position respectively in world Test bowling rankings. Murali is at the top with 151 points while Shane Warne has 128 points to his credit. England’s Stephen Harmison (126 points), India’s Anil Kumble (124 points), Makhaya Ntini from South Africa (118 points) follow in that order. South African Shaun Pollock (96 points) is sixth, followed by Shoaib Akhtar (95 points) from Pakistan, Christopher Martin from New Zealand (86 points) and Chaminda Vaas (77 points) from Sri Lanka. England’s Andrew Flintoff (73 points) is at the 10th spot.

In Test team rankings, Australia (80 points) is at the top followed by South Africa (64 points). India and England share the third spot with 60 points each. Following them are Pakistan (53 points), New Zealand (49 points), West Indies (28 points), Sri Lanka (20 points) and Zimbabwe (5 points). The Bangladeshis have not opened their account yet.
