Godrej launches microwave ovens
The Appliances Division of Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd recently introduced a new range of microwave ovens for convenient 5-star style cooking for all households. Chef Elango Rajendran, executive chef, The Radisson Chennai, demonstrated mouth-watering, 5-star dishes prepared in a quick and convenient manner, using Godrej microwave ovens. Eminent nutritionist Sushila Purshottam Sharangdhar, director - HEAL (Health Education and Lifestyle Management), shared nutrition benefits and tips on safe cooking using a microwave oven.
The new range of microwave ovens includes five sleek models with capacities ranging from 20 l to 30 l. The range includes solo, grill as well as convection models. In addition to the PowelWaves Technology, with features such as 'one touch express cooking', 'quartz grill', 'feather touch control panel', Godrej microwave ovens are set to make microwave cooking a convenient method of dishing out exotic food recipes, said Shyam Motwani, VP, Marketing & Exports, Godrej & Boyce Mfg Co Ltd - Appliance Division.
Godrej also showcased the 'Godrej Microwave Cook Book', a specially created cookbook featuring recipes by eight of India's prominent chefs from popular 5-star hotels across the country. These recipes can be prepared and used on different occasions and festivals as well as for household consumption such as snacks and meals at different times of the day. This cookbook is a part of the complementary starter kit that one gets with every Godrej microwave oven.
At the event, Chef Elango stated: "Today's microwave ovens empower you not just to heat up food but also cook some of the most delicious and exotic dishes that one gets to eat at 5-star hotels. Microwave ovens make cooking convenient and hassle-free while retaining the taste and nourishment in the food. Using Godrej microwave ovens, today's contemporary women can dish out some of the most mesmerising dishes in next-to-no time."

The Appliances Division's annual turnover has reached a significant milestone of Rs 600 crore. It has state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Shirwal (Maharashtra) and Mohali (Punjab).
