Eminent women honoured in Chennai 365 programme
Several eminent women were honoured as part of the International Women's Day celebrations organised by Priya Vision in association with Sri krishna Sweets on March 8, 2006.
The function was held as part of the Chennai 365 programmes organised by Sri Krishna Sweets in the city in association with various voluntary organisations, drama, music and dance troupes.
Among those honoured on March 8 were social worker Savitri Vaithi, film actress Sachu, writer Madhioli Saraswathi and Sudha Mahendran -- Mr Justice Bhaktavatsalam, chairman of the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Chennai Kendra, presided over the function which was also attended by actor ARS, industrialist Nalli Kuppuswami Chetti and A Natarajan, former director, Doordarshan Kendra,
Chennai.
The function was held at Rani Seethai Hall. Kathadi Ramamurthy and his group staged the play, Kalyanathil Galatta, on the occasion.
On March 7, Subbu Arumugam presented a Villupattu programme, Enna Thavam Seythanai at PSBB school, KK Nagar, with the programme being organised by Sri Rama Bhakta Samaj as part of the Chennai 365 series. Subbu Arumugam narrated how Yashoda, Arjunan, Karnan, Paanchaali and others had an opportunity to spend some time, interact, fight and play with Lord Krishna.
Tiruvallur N C Sridharan delivered a talk on 'Vetri Kodi Kattu'organised by Yuvashakti in association with Sri Krishna Sweets at DRBCCC Hindu College, Nanganallur, on March 9, 2006.
