Bye, bye tan
Ok, so summer's ended officially. And the after-effects can be seen on your skin, especially your hand and foot. Beauty parlours are full with appointments for "tan removing". Each sitting costs about Rs 300-Rs 500 in almost all parlours and the number of sitting depends upon the level of damage done to your skin. For those who cannot afford to go running to the parlour, we have a "tan removing" regime which is not only as effective as the beauty parlour treatment but pocket-friendly and time-saving too.
Requirements :
Fem blue bleach - 25 gm box (r.s. 35.70)
Ice cubes - 1 cup
Sunscreen/sun block - any reputed brand. (Rs 45 - Rs 300)
Riding gloves (for all those commuting by two-wheelers) (Rs 30)
Method:
First see that your hands are shaved or waxed. Do not use depilatory cream before this process. Then wash hand and foot with tap water and pat dry. Mix Fem cream bleach and blue powder according to the instructions given with the bleach. Please do a patch test 24 hours prior to see whether the bleach suits your skin. Apply it generously on yours arms and leg. Leave it on for 25-30 minutes. Wash off with tap water. Then pat dry. Take the ice cubes and rub it all over your arms and foot in a fast motion and then massage it. Pat dry again. Do not use soap for 5 hours after bleaching.
Use sunscreen/sunblock regularly twice a day even when you are at home. If you are going out, apply it half-an-hour before leaving the house. Use full-length gloves without fail when out in the sun, and try to stick to wearing full sleeved clothes till the desired results are
acheived.
Do this once in 15 days till your skin comes back to its original colour. Get ready to become fair and glowing by Christmas and New Year. Now that your face and skin are ready, watch out for my next article on beautiful tress. Deepika Sriraman
