Mehta Jewellery and Trendsmith have launched 'Shubh Mangalam', a complete collection of wedding jewellery. The festival, inaugurated by cine actress Jyotika, also has a collection of all traditional articles that one may need for the wedding, including 'kuthuvilakkus' and emerald-ruby studded gold 'kungumam' boxes.
Tushaar Mehta, trustee, Mehta Jewellery, says, "With international and cross-cultural trends coming in, wedding jewellery is also evolving. Every bride wants to look striking and different. With an increasing awareness of fashion trends and variety of jewellery available, jewellery shopping can be complex and confusing. The 'Shubh Mangalam' collection addresses this issue, where everything that a jewellery buyer might need - from jewellery to advice - is available."
The collection at Mehta Jewellery caters to all preferences - traditional, contemporary, heavy jewellery and light-weight jewellery. It also features jewellery for all occasions - engagement, wedding and post-wedding get-togethers.
The collection includes plain and studded gold jewellery, jewellery in 18 karat white gold and platinum jewellery with diamonds, polki diamonds, rubies, emeralds and coloured stones.
The range also includes temple jewellery, 'oddiyanams', 'vankis', 'thaalis', 'malli moggus', and a host of traditional wedding jewellery. For those with contemporary tastes, there is a range of new, Indo-Western designs and wedding bands in gold, white gold and platinum.
There is also a collection available for the groom, including gold and platinum rings, gold cufflinks and buttons, to go perfectly with the
'sherwani'.
The 'Shubh Mangalam' collection starts at Rs 2,500 for mangalsutra chains, Rs 40,000 for diamond bangles and Rs 80,000 for diamond necklaces.
A specialty at the 'Shubh Mangalam' collection is the 14-diamond pressure set earrings and other contemporary designs. As a special offer, Mehta Jewellery will not include making charges on the 14-diamond earrings until January 14.
In addition, Mehta Jewellery has introduced value-added services in designing consulting and evaluating on bridal jewellery, all at no cost. These services include:
Evaluation of jewellery
Consultation on investment in solitaire diamonds
Consultation on planning a jewellery budget and trousseau. The bride's lifestyle, personality, budget and preferences are understood, based on which a customised solution for jewellery is given. For instance, a bride going abroad may require more contemporary, light-weight jewellery in 18 karat gold, while another bride may require more traditional designs in pure gold.
Based on the customer's requirements, Mehta Jewellery's award winning design team would create a design at no charge. The customers could also bring in their own stones, using which the design team would provide a design.
Naresh Mehta, another trustee, says, "We have many requests for consultation on remaking family heirlooms. One is often at a loss in deciding which part of the family jewellery should be preserved and which should be re-made. Some pieces may have superior craftsmanship and quality and we do not recommend re-making them. By just adding or removing a few elements, the piece can be made to look more aesthetic."
The consultation and customised designing is open for everyone. The objective is to provide a value-added service to the customer who walks in, without her feeling compelled or obliged to buy.
Trendsmith, a venture in diamond jewellery, by TBZ Nirmal Zaveri, has introduced an extensive collection in wedding diamond
jewellery.
This includes a designer range of traditional Indian jewellery set with uncut diamonds and precious/semi-precious stones and contemporary jewellery with coloured diamonds, and polki. The jewellery uses the best quality diamonds and is a premium collection. The 'Shubh Mangalam' range at Trendsmith also includes contemporary silverware.
The range features diamond engagement rings starting from Rs 2,500 and diamond necklaces starting from Rs 35,000.
Commenting on the launch of 'Shubh Mangalam', Samrat Zaveri, MD, Trendsmith, says, "Buying wedding jewellery is an extremely sentimental occasion and brides are very particular about where they buy their jewellery from, and even the time at which they shop for it. We seek to cater to all her jewellery needs, and provide her with the very best."
Adding to Trendsmith's Shubh Mangalam offerings is their special scheme where any tobe wed couple making a trousseau purchase in a single bill worth over Rs 3,00,000 would be entitled to participate in the Trendsmith Mega Wedding Offer. Trendsmith would hand over 25 gift vouchers of Rs 10,000 each which would be redeemable on every wedding anniversary till the 25th wedding anniversary of the couple.
Jyotika praised te initiative taken by Mehta Jewellery and Trendsmith. "Jewellery is close to any woman's heart and more so on her wedding day.
