Tanishq's Akshaya Trithiya offer
Tanishq, India's leading jewellery brand, has come out with a 'Purity for Prosperity' offer for the upcoming auspicious occasion of Akshaya Trithiya. This is the first time Tanishq has made an offer for Akshaya Trithiya, one of the four most auspicious days of the Vedic calendar.
On this day, the sun and the moon are simultaneously at their peak of brightness. It is also the birthday of Parsurama and the day which marked the beginning of the Golden Age. Akshaya, meaning the never diminishing, stands for eternal prosperity for any new ventures or investments made on this day. Gold and gold jewellery bought and worn on this day signify the never diminishing good fortune. Tanishq pays tribute to this philosophy with the launch of its special collections and 'Purity for Prosperity' offer.
Rupal Sheth, brand manager, Tanishq, said in Chennai Tanishq jewellery for Akshaya Trithiya consists of designs where tradition marries modernity beautifully and, therefore, appeals to women desiring to buy precious Indian jewellery that suit their tastes. The brand's offering for Akshaya Trithiya also symbolises prosperity and good fortune in keeping with the auspiciousness of the occasion. Tanishq's pure 22k range of jewellery spans all the occasions of a woman's life - everyday, casual evenings, family functions, wedding and festivals, she added.
In anticipation of the gold rush on this auspicious occasion, two-times National Award winner, actress and renowned danseuse Shobhana, announced Tanishq's special offering for Akshaya Trithiya - 'pre-book eternal prosperity and get 10 per cent off on making charges'. This pre-booking scheme has been launched with the aim of creating an enjoyable retail experience while avoiding the risk of making last minute, hasty decisions. The 10 per cent discount on making charges for all such pre-bookings is set to add glitter to the occasion, Rupal Sheth said.
"At Tanishq, we have always strived to be a part of every celebration in the life of the Indian woman by providing her the perfect range of precious jewellery that fulfil her needs. This Akshay Trithiya, women can not only own exquisite Tanishq jewellery that suit their tastes and preferences but also select Tanishq jewellery leisurely, well before Akshaya Trithiya and avail of the attractive 10 per cent discount on making charge. Through this offer we strive to enable her to usher in prosperity into her home; with pure Tanishq jewellery, that will never diminish." said
Rupal.
During the offer period till May 10, customers will have wide-ranging options in traditional and contemporary designs in pure 22k gold and diamond jewellery that reflect the essence of prosperity, hope and good fortune that the festival stands for.
The Akshaya Trithiya pre-booking scheme, along with the 10 per cent deduction on making charge offer is available across all Tanishq boutiques in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka. Customers can book in advance till May 10 and collect their jewellery on May 11.
Tanishq comes out with 2,000 to 5,000 new designs every year, Rupal said, adding that it plans to open 20 more stores in the country this year, taking its total number of stores to 72. The company has considerably increased its turnover from Rs 416 crore in 2003-04 to Rs 570 crore in 2005-05, and " we hope to take it further to Rs 750 crore this year", Rupal said.
The increase has come from its loyal customers and also new customers, she said, adding that in the south, gold items moved faster, while in the north, the demand was mainly for jewellery. The company hopes to meet the growing market in mini-metros, she said.
The Tanishq retail chain is in 54 cities, making it India's first and largest jewellery retail store chain.
